Chocolate & Avocado Tart
Isn’t it cool how avocado can be turned into an incredibly chocolatey and indulgent dessert?
Fill a sweet, nutty base with it and you have this wonderful pie in less than an hour!
Give it a whirl, even if you are not a fan of avocados, because this is a definite crowd pleaser. Contains no refined sugars or dairy.
Ingredients
Filling:
3 x Avocado
1 banana
1/2 cup cacao
1/2 cup raw honey
5 x dates
1/4 cup coconut milk
1/4 cup coconut oil.
Base:
1 cup mixed nuts all kinds
1/2 cup dried apricots
5 medjool or 10 Iranian dates
3 tbsp water
1 tsp each cinnamon and cardamon
To make the crust, place the ingredients in a food processor until they form fine crumbs. Press crust into a tart pan and freeze for 10-15 minutes to firm up.
Meanwhile, make the mousse: Place the filling ingredients in a food processor and blend until they are creamy and blended together. Blend until thoroughly incorporated and you have a smooth, creamy mousse-like texture.
Once the tart crust has firmed up, spread the chocolate avocado mousse onto the tart crust.
